Our founder’s story begins with the skills he developed at a young age, first as a welder, then an engineer. It was his innate ability, craftsmanship skills and vision that led him to found Vanquish.
How it all began
It’s the early 2010s. Onetime welder, engineer and self-made Dutch entrepreneur Tom Steentjes searches for a 32-foot day boat of outstanding quality, performance and design–in aluminum, the premium boatbuilding material. None exist. Why not? Tom’s next move speaks to his exceptional drive, dedication and perfectionism. He makes it himself.
Tom creates a yacht of astonishing singular design and build quality. A friend sees it. He must have one. More follow. Orders snowball. It’s not long before Vanquish launches in the US, to widespread acclaim. The secret? To see a Vanquish is to want it. But behind the style lies unequalled substance. Each one is a triumph of engineering perfectionism, inspiring an instant emotional response that grows into a lifelong passion.
